Personal Information

Chenglong Du, an associate professor and graduate supervisor at the School of Automation, Central South University. Chenglong Du received the B.Sc. degree in automation from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2016, and the Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering from Central South University, China, in 2022. From Dec. 2019 to Dec. 2021, he was a Visiting Ph.D. Student with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Victoria, Victoria, BC, Canada. From Aug. 2022 to Aug. 2024, he was a Post-doctoral Fellow with the School of Automation, Central South University, where he is currently an Associate Professor.


Dr. Du's research interests include reliable control theory, stochastic switched theory, reinforcement learning control and optimization, distributed cluster systems, aircraft takeoff and landing control technology, etc. Dr. Du has published 20+ papers in top international journals in the fields of automatic control, mechanical engineering, aerospace, and applied mathematics, including 5 papers in Automatica, IEEE TAC, 15 papers in other IEEE Trans./IFAC journals, 3 papers selected as ESI highly cited papers (2 hot papers), won the first prize of Hunan Provincial Natural Science Award, the first prize of Chinese Association of Automation Natural Science Award, the excellent paper award of Hunan Provincial Natural Science Award. Dr. Du was selected as a China Postdoctoral Innovation Talent, and host 5 research projects such as National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project and Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation, participated in 7 major/general projects of National Natural Science Foundation. He serves as an editorial board member for the "Multi UAV Systems and Mobile Robots" special issue in the journal "Electronics", and as a reviewer for over 30 top international journals, including IEEE TAC, Automatica, IEEE TC, IEEE TIE, IEEE TII, IEEE TSMCA, IEEE TMECH, IEEE TASE, and IEEE TIV. Welcome high-quality students with good mathematical skills, strong programming abilities, and hands-on skills to apply for Master's positions.
