Jun Peng, Ph. D., Professor, Ph. D. supervisor, Member of IEEE, Member of IEICE, currently works in School of Computer Science and Engineering, Central South University. She is the chair of Department of Communication Engineering, the director of Networked Communication and Control Institute for Railway Transportation, the deputy director of Engineering Laboratory of Railway Vehicle Braking Technology, the director of Information and Control Undergraduate Innovation Training Center, the standing committee member of Robotics Competition of China Automation Society and the member of the Intelligent Service Committee of the China Artificial Intelligence Society. She visited University of Central Florida in USA as a visiting scholar for one year in 2006. In Dec. 2009, she was invited to be a senior visiting professor at University of Central Florida to conduct research on collaborative control of multi-agent system. From Jan. 2017 to Feb. 2017, as a national senior research scholar, she went to the laboratory of Professor Jianping Pan at the University of Victoria in Canada to conduct research on the field of mobile cloud services and cyber physics systems (CPS).
Her main research areas include intelligent transportation mobile communication systems, multi-agent system collaborative control, robotic emotional computing, cloud computing network resource sharing technology, big data and machine learning, distributed network collaborative optimization theory. She has received three fundings from National Natural Science Foundation of China, and completed more than 60 projects of the National 863 Program, provincial and ministerial-level industrial applications. She has obtained 7 authorized invention patents, 8 national invention patents, and 16 software copyrights. She has published more than 120 papers in SCI and EI indexed journals, such as IEEE Trans. on Signal Processing (TSP), IEEE Trans. on Service Computing (TSC), IEEE Trans. on Industrial Electronics (TIE), IEEE Trans. on Control Systems Technology (TCST), IEEE Trans. on Energy Conversion (TEC), IEEE Trans. on Industry Application (TIA), Journal of Communications, Journal of Automation. She also attended international top conferences such as the International Conference on Communications (ICC), the Conference on Control and Decision (CDC), the American Conference on Control (ACC), and the International Conference on Automatic Controls (IFAC World Congress), and has published three textbooks as the editor-in-chief. She was awarded the teaching awards in the university twice and won the championship of China Robot Contest Robot Rescue Simulation Group for 3 times.

Description of Research Group:Networked Communication and Control Institute for Railway Transportation of Central South University was established in 2001. The academic leader is prof. Jun Peng. The Institute is a scientific research team composed of a group of young and middle-aged teachers, post-doctoral, doctoral and master students with innovative spirit and enthusiasm. We have 6 Professors, 5 Associate Professors and 1 Assistant Professor in the group. There are 12 PhD students, 42 master students, and 3 postdoctors in the institute now.
The Institute has been engaged in research on intelligent transportation network communication and security control, intelligent mobile robots, mobile cloud services, machine learning, cyberspace security, and smart energy management. We have built high-level platforms for railway transportation and related applications. We work closely with China CRRC, and together we launched Hunan Provincial Engineering Laboratory for Rail Vehicle Braking Technology.
In recent years, our research interests include "Safety operation control of rail transit system", "Distributed fault diagnosis" and "Cooperative control and optimization of cyber-physical system(CPS) ", "Hybrid energy management systems", "Big data and machine learning", " Cloud services for the next generation mobile applications", "Cloud computing resource sharing and hierarchical game", "Intelligent cognitive wireless cooperative communication". We have received more than one hundred fundings from National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial and ministerial key projects and school-enterprise key cooperation projects, with the total amount of more than 20 million RMB. We have won one Hunan science and technology progress first prize, Hunan science and technology progress third prize twice. We have obtained 8 authorized invention patents, 30 accepted invention patents and 18 software copyrights and have published more than 330 papers in SCI and EI indexed journals and conferences.
