Associate Professor
Supervisor of Doctorate Candidates
Supervisor of Master's Candidates
Profile
Male, Associate Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, born in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province. Joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Central South University at the end of 2019.
Research interests include:
(1) Multi-scale mechanical behavior mechanisms of advanced alloys: Using multi-scale mechanical characterization (including macro-mechanics and micro/nano-mechanics) as a medium, combined with dislocation dynamics and molecular dynamics simulations, to reveal the mechanical contributions and underlying mechanisms of alloy interfaces, precipitates, and heterogeneous structures at the micro/nano scale, thereby providing theoretical support for strength-ductility optimization of metallic materials through structural tailoring.
(2) Design and advanced manufacturing of metallic materials: Design, manufacturing (including traditional casting and thermomechanical processing, laser/arc-based additive manufacturing), and strengthening-toughening research of advanced alloys (including high-entropy alloys, amorphous alloys and their composites) for extreme service conditions.
Publications: Published over 80 SCI papers, including multiple papers as first author or corresponding author in top journals such as Nature Communications, Acta Materialia, Advanced Materials, Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, International Journal of Plasticity.
Research grants and academic service: Currently leads General/Youth/Key Program sub-projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and industry-funded collaborative projects. Also participates in National Key Research and Development Programs. Serves as a reviewer for several SCI journals, including Materials Today, Nature Communications, International Journal of Plasticity, Journal of the American Ceramic Society, and Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China.
Group information: The research group maintains reasonable and timely work progress with regular progress reports. We fully support students in scientific research; many group members have received First-Class Graduate Scholarships or industry-sponsored scholarships. We organize occasional group dinners and social activities, and provide additional stipends for project work. We welcome motivated young researchers to join our group (enrolling at least 2 graduate students per year, mainly focusing on 3D printing of special aluminum alloys, high-entropy alloys, high-strength steels, nickel-based superalloys, and low-carbon elastocaloric cooling metals). Ph.D. positions are available through the broader research team. Master's students with outstanding performance and interest in further studies can transfer to the Ph.D. program during their master's study or apply for Ph.D. admission after graduation.
