Dr. Songchun Yang, a member of the Communist Party of China, holds a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and Health Statistics. His research is dedicated to prevention strategies for common and frequently occurring diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases. As of March 2026, he has published over 30 papers in both Chinese and English, including 13 original research articles as first/corresponding author (including co-authorship) in journals such as Neurology, Bulletin of the World Health Organization, and Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has served as Principal Investigator on one Youth Program (Category C) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one Youth Program (Category C) of the Natural Science Foundation of Hunan Province, and one General Project of Graduate Education and Teaching Reform at Central South University. He serves as an editorial board member of BMC Public Health and a reviewer for international journals including European Heart Journal, The Lancet Digital Health, and BMC Medicine. He undertakes teaching responsibilities for undergraduate courses in Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine, as well as the graduate course in Clinical Epidemiology. I begin recruiting master's students in 2026 and currently supervise one academic master's student in Epidemiology and Health Statistics and one professional master's student in Health Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. As a newly established team, I will develop a customized training plan for each student, ensure dedicated one-on-one mentoring time, and respond to emails promptly. Here, I will work alongside you and grow together with you.
